“You know we don’t have money,” my parents reply frequents every time you would consider going out or making some crazy surprise for a friend. Surprises mind you are only convenient and impressionable only if you execute the “mouth agape expression” phenomenon. Otherwise you would end up running uphill on a greased surface.
This may have led me to put aside dependency on man for money. Lately is when I realised that for even most of my jobs, it was not that I had failed to be paid. It was a norm that people are unreliable in payment, even when the task required such a reward. A charity case.
Well not that I lacked, but that freebies were the habit in life. You tend to render other elements irrelevant and unsatisfactory after several failed attempts, if you are wise.
Yes, I am wise according to some reputable IQ tests ratings at between 127 and 143… another 132 to be exact! Ridiculous melodrama of the brain metering itself. You cannot make the cake and eat it; or so goes the adage.
Put this money issue to bed, Oh, yes. There is a verse that Paul says “For while we were yet with you, we gave you this rule and charge: If anyone will not work, neither let him eat.” (2 Thessalonians 3:10 (AMP). Yes, you eat your blessings as another verse would put it. So work to eat, but not eat to work.
Agree in your heart each dawn, as the birds chirp away, to sing your own motivational rhythm to work for your food. Unless you have enough food to be feeding others to feed you, then toil the ground. Sweat it out. Genesis 3:19 (NIV):
“By the sweat of your brow
you will eat your food
until you return to the ground”
Unless you are dead, you cannot sleep. You can only rest, as sleeping is for the dead. Get up! Get up! Get up! Get a move on and make a name for yourself. Make sure the kids you hold will not hear of ‘You know we don’t have money.’ Raise up and push on.
Even when the going gets tough, you take a break, think, gather yourself together and find a way to ease yourself out. You don’t always have to fight fire with fire. Use your leverage. In case of meeting a brick wall, you have four options:
- Go over it,
- Go under it, or
- Go through it.
- The fourth is not an option. You quit.
As I learnt today, the moment you stop to think, you are dead. Think. Tinker. Ponder. Imagine. Technology may limit you, but please think. Resources may limit you, but please think. Think. Think BIG!
A man of few, conquers much. In future, think before you speak, act or think. Do not be a I do not have man.
All you need to say is simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’; anything beyond this comes from the evil one. (Matthew 5:37 (NIV)
